On Wednesday afternoon, several ladies of the parish came together in fellowship to watch Mom's Night Out, a comedy, as part of the parish's first-ever "Ladies Movie Day." 

One lady commented that she hasn't "laughed so hard in quite some time" and another said "I really needed something like this to get me out of the house!"

Matushka Andrea, who organized the event, expressed her hopes that a ministry to ladies, particularly stay-at-home moms with children would become a regular part of the parish's life.  "I hope we can have a movie or some sort of activity once a month or so.  There is a real need from the people of our parish to have an outlet like this."

This event is the first of its kind in the parish's history.  10 ladies young and old, watched the movie on a big screen in the parish's Daria Hall.  They had light refreshments and kicked back on comfortable couches and lounge chairs for an afternoon of laughs and fun.  Several of the ladies commented that they would like to do something like this again and a handful stayed for several hours, making a day of the opportunity. 

"I whole-heartedly support efforts like these.  Any opportunity we have to bring our own people together and open our doors to the outside community is something we must rejoice in.  It is my hope that efforts like these will be the prelude to even more and wonderful opportunities to foster love in our parish and the community at large." said Fr. John.
