Fr. Paul Celebrates 102nd Birthday

On July 2, 2024 Fr. Paul Shafran reached another milestone - his 102nd birthday.

Sunday, June 30, 2024 Fr. Paul served Divine Liturgy with Fr. Volodymyr Chaikivskyi, Rector, and Fr. Bohdan Chaikivskyi. Following Liturgy Fr. Paul and family, granddaughter Marissa, daughters Nina and Paula, and son-in-law Ludwig, joined the parish to celebrate this momentous event with a delicious luncheon and cake accompanied by a festive rendition of Happy Birthday and Many Years!

On the "official" day, Fr. Paul and Matushka Mary enjoyed the celebration at home with family.

God is indeed good!

Holy Saturday

We celebrate our risen Lord as we accept the light of Christ and form a midnight procession around the church declaring, "Christ is Risen from the Dead...."

We re-enter the church exclaiming "Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen!" and hear the sermon of St. John Chrysostom to prepare for the Paschal Divine Liturgy.

"O Christ, Great and Most Holy Pascha. O Wisdom, Word and Power of God, grant that we may more perfectly partake of Thee in the never-ending day of The Kingdom."

On Great and Holy Friday we commemorate the death of Christ on the Cross.

This is the culmination of the observance of

His Passion by which our Lord suffered and died for our sins.

Holy Thursday-12 Passion Gospels

We learn of God's love for us through the Last Supper of Christ, where he established the sacrament of Holy Communion.

Our new commandment is to "love one another."

Veneration of The Holy Cross Lenten Sunday

On the third Sunday of Great and Holy Lent, we commemorate the Precious and Life-Giving Cross of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This was a beautiful day at St. Vladimir as we also had the opportunity to host afternoon Mission Vespers and a delicious Potluck Supper.

Our parish had many visiting priests and parishioners from other churches in attendance. Open the link below to see the photos!
